Roundabout at Westwood Drive and Tenterfield Drive, Burnside Heights

We are upgrading the intersection of Westwood Drive and Tenterfield Drive, Burnside Heights, by constructing a new roundabout.

A new roundabout will improve traffic flow on Westwood Drive and improve safety of right turns in and out of Tenterfield Drive.

Construction of the roundabout is planned to commence in December 2024 and expected to be completed by the end of January 2025.

Works will include:

  • new roundabout constructed at the intersection of Westwood Drive and Tenterfield Drive, Burnside
  • upgrade of pedestrian refuge islands on Westwood Drive and Tenterfield Drive


Nightworks took place Monday 2 December to Thursday 5 December between 9pm and 5am. From Thursday 5 December to 13 December the intersection will operate as a left in and left out only, no right turns at the intersection.

Friday 13 December until 10 January a temporary roundabout will be installed, so the intersection will operate as a roundabout.  

Frequently asked questions

What are traffic impacts during construction?

During the works, we plan to keep Westwood Drive open to traffic. Tenterfield Drive will be closed at the intersection during the school holiday period in January 2025 with detour plans in place. Some weekends and night works will be required when it is necessary.
