From 12pm Tuesday 17 September 2024, Melton City Council entered into an Election Period (caretaker) prior to the 26 October 2024 Council election.
During the Election Period, we are limited to the types of information we can publish to avoid potential breaches of the Local Government Act 2020.

Seniors and carers

Council is committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, children, young people, older people and people who live, learn, work or play in the City of Melton.

The Growing and Thriving Strategy is an integrated plan that combines four individual Council strategies, specifically the Disability Action Plan (recognising disability can be present at any age), the Municipal Early Years Plan (0-12 years), Youth Strategy (12-25 years), and the Ageing Well Strategy (50+ years) into one, all-encompassing document. It’s a document for all people, within a City for all people.

Help at home and supporting you in the community

We provide a small amount of entry-level support services to assist eligible older people, people living with disabilities or chronic illness to remain living independently at home and in the community. We also support care relationships through planned respite services which allows carers to take a break from their usual caring responsibilities.
