My name is Patrick Kariuki. I'm an African Australian I moved from Kenya just about 14 years ago and I have been living in Melbourne and working across various suburbs here but mostly I've worked in Melton City Council uh for the last nine close to 10 years.

I'm a father of two, I've lived here so I'm a local now.  By profession I'm an IT specialist although I've worked in various fields within it, especially in service delivery. I also work a lot in the community within the young adults and the youth and also volunteering a lot within my community um helping in various ways uh especially for the new migrants.

Feeling  at home uh for me then means that I can be feeling peaceful are safe uh my family feels protected and that they able to be up and about without worrying what may happen when they're out there uh my friends and visitors can come and feel they are safe uh I can interact with neighbors and people you know within the and across the suburbs uh without fear of being uh treated differently so that that's really what makes me feel at home here in the City of Melton.

The city of Melton gives me the feeling of being home by providing uh accessible services uh for instance we can access the libraries we can access the parks and the reserves yeah.

The City of Melton is my home, it's your home, it's our home!
