From 12pm Tuesday 17 September 2024, Melton City Council entered into an Election Period (caretaker) prior to the 26 October 2024 Council election.
During the Election Period, we are limited to the types of information we can publish to avoid potential breaches of the Local Government Act 2020.

Faces of Melton

It is with immense sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Tamirat Gebremariam, the artist who so beautifully captured the essence of 12 unique and diverse individuals featured in the Faces of Melton exhibition. We honour his life and legacy and extend our sincere condolences to Tamirat's family, friends and community.

Celebrating Harmony Day 2019, Tamirat Gebremariam painted striking contemporary portraits of 12 residents of the City of Melton. His paintings are a tribute to a diverse group of individuals living in a community where cultural identities are varied and complex. The portraits are accompanied by audio files, telling the stories of individuals and the active role they play in building a vibrant and inclusive community.
