Mental Health and Wellbeing

Nearly 43% of Australian adults have struggled with a mental health disorder at some time in their lives.1 It’s important to have resources and information available to help everyone achieve their best possible mental health, no matter what age, background or stage of life you are at.

Council works with a range of local organisations to deliver programs that aim to improve your mental health and wellbeing.

Sons of the West and Daughters of the West are two free 10-week programs that run every year and aim to support and educate community members on a range of mental, social and physical health topics, as well as participate in group-based exercise. Visit the relevant webpages for further information.

Melton Learning Directory and Melton Libraries also have a range of free and low-cost programs available for people of all abilities, backgrounds and ages to improve your mental health and wellbeing. Visit the relevant webpages for further information.

Stay up to date with local activities that aim to improve your mental health by following Healthy City of Melton Facebook page.

Below is a list of services you can access if you are seeking assistance for your mental health or would like further information. Your local GP will also be able to provide you with information on how to get help and refer you to appropriate services.
