Moving Melton - Integrated Transport Strategy

Council adopted Moving Melton - Integrated Transport Strategy at its Ordinary Meeting of 15 December 2015. Moving Melton provides directions on what changes are required to the transport system to provide our communities with a range of transport options to get to where they want to go.

The Strategy provides the State Government and Council with short, medium and long term actions to improve integration for all modes of transport including walking, cycling, buses, trains, cars, and freight. It recommends actions that Council can take to improve the transport systems that it owns and manages (such as footpaths, bicycle infrastructure and local roads), and recommends the advocacy actions that Council should take to request improvements to the parts of the transport system that the State Government owns and manages (such as major roads, highways, freeways, bus and train services).

In 2022, Melton City Council undertook further development of the Integrated Transport Strategy and created the Transport Prospectus. The Transport Prospectus has created Moving Melton as a digital  platform that provides information on the current transport challenges residents and businesses experience in the City of Melton. The transport prospectus identifies road, rail, bus, and active transport infrastructure projects that would better connect our community and support our economic prosperity.
