Western Plains North Green Wedge Management Plan
The Western Plains North Green Wedge Management Plan aims to achieve a balance between the protection of agricultural viability and environmental features and opportunities for other appropriate uses in the Green Wedge. The final plan was formulated from key issues and ideas raised during three consultation events in 2013 and 2014 and from written submissions and surveys received by the project team.
Following consideration of 32 landowner/occupier submissions and 5 submissions from stakeholders on the draft version of the Plan, on 23 September 2014, Council adopted the final Western Plains North Green Wedge Management Plan(PDF, 17MB). Council is in the process of implementing some of the key short and medium term actions from the adopted Management Plan.

The process for preparing the final Western Plains North Green Wedge Management Plan(PDF, 17MB) involved three stages of work including Background Reporting, Vision and Community Views and the draft Management Plan. Three rounds of consultation were held as part of each project stage, these occurred in May 2013, November 2013 and May 2014. Participation in the project was extended to all landowners, occupiers and stakeholders identified within the Western Plains North Green Wedge.
From initial background research, feedback from consultation sessions and analysis of key issues and opportunities within the Green Wedge project documents were prepared, all of which informed the final Management Plan.
