Taylors Road Corridor Upgrade Plan

The Taylors Road corridor is a vital east-west link within the City of Melton located between the Melton Highway and Western Freeway.  This key thoroughfare currently services the established areas of Caroline Springs, Burnside Heights, and Taylors Hill, as well as rapidly expanding communities like Aintree, Bonnie Brook, Fraser Rise, and Deanside.

As part of the broader Taylors Road Corridor Upgrade Plan, Melton City Council is committed to improving safety and alleviating congestion by implementing crucial infrastructure upgrades across key locations along the route.

Duplication of Taylors Road between City Vista Court and Westwood Drive/Calder Park Drive intersection

Early works: Tuesday 22 April - end of June 2025

We will be commencing early works to trim and remove trees on the north side of Taylors Road between City Vista Court and Pacific Boulevard, from Tuesday 22 April to Thursday 24 April 2025.

This is required to prepare for the works to move existing power lines further away from the road, as Powercor has set height limits for trees under power lines.

Powercor will move 17 power poles further away from the road between City Vista Court and Pacific Boulevard, from Monday 28 April until the end of June.

These works will mostly occur during the day but will include some nightworks. There may be traffic impacts, which will occur outside peak hours and be under traffic management.

While minimising tree removal is a priority for Council, in this instance it is necessary to remove 59 trees between Orbis Avenue and Caroline Springs Boulevard/Gourlay Road intersection, and 19 trees between Caroline Springs Boulevard/Gourlay Road intersection and Pacific Boulevard.

During the project we will plant close to 300 mature trees.
