All dogs and cats over three (3) months of age must be microchipped and registered with Council. Registrations are due on 10 April each year. You can register or renew your pet registration online.

Responsible dog ownership & responsibilities

Responsible dog ownership means meeting the health and welfare needs of your dog, and ensuring your dog’s activities do not interfere with the neighbours or the environment.

If you are no longer able to care for your pet, you can surrender them to the Pound or contact an animal rescue to help them find a new home. Pets that are advertised for free or dumped are at risk of going to an unsuitable home.
