Melton Taekwondo Centre was established in 1978 by 8th Dan Grand Master George Malizia.
GM Malizia holds Taekwondo JidoKwan 8th Dan and Kukkiwon 7th Dan Black Belts and recognised International Master Instructor. He also holds 3rd Dan Accredited Coach for “Arnis De Mano” - Filipino stick combat. He has taught the martial art for more than 45 years and continues teaching Taekwondo enthusiastically to children, women and men of varying ages.
Our training has a focus on learning with fun and this applies to adults and children alike. There are many reasons to practice Taekwondo, including: enhance your self-esteem by challenging your physical and mental powers; build your confidence through your achievements; increase discipline through training and competition; develop better control of your spirit, mind and body; and master self defence systems to keep you safe in a variety of situations.
We follow the five tenets of Taekwondo:
Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial art and a scientific self defence system with over 2000 years of history. As a modern Olympic sport, it is practiced by over 20 million people in 165 countries across the globe.
