Join the library

Adult membership is open to anyone aged 18 years or over who lives in Victoria.

As an Adult member, you can:

• Borrow up to 60 items for three weeks
• Use Wi-Fi, computers, gaming consoles and printers
• Access free online resources

To be eligible for Adult membership, you must:

• Be aged 18 years or over
• Be able to show proof of identification and a current Victorian residential address

Junior and Young Adult membership is open to anyone under 18 years of age with a parent or guardian living in Victoria.

As a Junior or Young Adult library member, you can:

• Borrow up to 60 items for three weeks
• Use public Wi-Fi, computers, gaming consoles and printers (children under 12 will need permission from a parent or guardian to access the internet and public computers)
• Access free online resources

To apply for a Junior or Young Adult membership, you will need a parent, carer, or guardian to sign your library card as your guarantor. Your guarantor is responsible for any library materials or equipment that you access, and any fees or charges on your account.

Online membership is open to everyone! This type of membership may be useful if:

• You cannot supply proof of your current address
• You live outside of Victoria, or
• You only want to use public computers and online resources

With an online membership, you can:

• Access online collections and resources such as eBooks and eAudiobooks
• Use our public Wi-Fi, computers, gaming consoles and printers

You can upgrade your online membership to a full membership at any time. To do this, simply visit your nearest Melton City Libraries branch with some identification and proof of your current address.

If you would like to borrow items from the library but cannot supply proof of your address, you can apply for a Partial Membership.

With a Partial Membership, you can:

• Borrow up to five items at a time for three weeks
• Access digital collections and online resources
• Use the public computers, internet, and printers

Partial Membership is open to anyone aged 15 years and over.

You can upgrade your Partial Membership to a Young Adult or Adult membership at any time. To do this, visit your nearest Melton City Libraries branch with proof of your address.

We provide a free home delivery service for residents of the City of Melton who find it difficult to visit their local library in person.
