Artwork Statement
This project was a collaboration between Melton City Council’s Youth Arts Club participants and professional artist, Sebastian Fransz. The project aimed to facilitate creative learning opportunities for young people, and represent their interests and experiences in two artworks using vibrant and happy colours, patterns and designs.
The two powerboxes are located in Melton West, and complement each other with bright opposing colours and silhouettes, Their design features were based on feedback from participatory workshops in the Youth Arts Club term program.
Young people from Council’s Youth Arts Club and Young Communities School Holiday Program were involved in painting the artwork with Sebastian across two days.
