About the work:

The mural depicts young people being together, talking, supporting each other, creating a space where more and more young women from all cultures connect. By using the metaphor of a variety of plants and leaves intertwining and growing together, the mural reflects the notion of sisterhood and growing together with one another. The selection of plants in the design include natives from around Australia, as well as other plants from around the world, all growing around the power box together in harmony. Plants have strong roots which ground them, allowing them to grow alongside others reflecting the idea of solidarity and community. The vibrant colours coordinate to radiate strength in the composition.
