She Will is a visual art exhibition that aims to honour and pay homage to women from the South Sudanese community within Melbourne, Australia. She Will draws inspiration from digital archives to share the stories of women that have contributed to the growth of the South Sudanese community within Western Metropolitan Region over the last decade.
She Will continues local emerging artist Nanchok Santino Chol’s interest in the use of digital archives to amplify identities, lived experiences and cultures, aiming to foster understanding of the refugee experience and the growth of the vibrant and diverse South Sudanese community in Melbourne’s West.
About Nanchok Santino Chol
Nanchok Santino Chol is an emerging artist, curator and writer living and working on Wurundjeri Country. She is a South Sudanese woman who draws inspiration from her heritage, upbringing, and digital archives. Nanchok's multidisciplinary practice is rooted in creating art that aims to amplify identities, stories, culture, and spaces within her community. Nanchok strongly believes that community is a driving ecosystem that encourages both individual and collective growth.
