Melton City Council has unveiled a modern new pavilion at the Melton Recreation Reserve.
The new $7 million pavilion was opened by City of Melton Mayor Cr Kathy Majdlik and State Member for Melton Steve McGhie MP and will be used by local Australian Rules football, netball and cricket clubs.
The new pavilion has been built in line with sporting and inclusive access guidelines and features a coaches’ box, shelter for players and a new timekeepers’ box.
It also has more social space, a kitchen and other amenities, a meeting room and umpire changerooms.
The changerooms have been built to female-friendly standards, which means more woman and girls will be able to play community sport.
The upgrade was fast-tracked by $3.3 million from the Victorian Government through its Community Sports Infrastructure Loan Scheme.
