Melton City Council is seeking community feedback to help guide the future provision of aquatic facilities and services in the City of Melton.

Council is updating its Aquatic and Leisure Strategy and would like to hear from residents how they are currently using aquatic facilities and what they would like to see provided in the future.

The City of Melton currently has one aquatic centre, Melton Waves Leisure Centre, with a second centre, the Plumpton Aquatic and Leisure Centre, scheduled to open in 2028.

The updated strategy will review the condition and use of Melton Waves and provide recommendations regarding the future of the facility.

It will also look at the development of the Plumpton Aquatic and Leisure Centre and provide a roadmap for the future provision of aquatic facilities and programs to service the City of Melton’s growing population.

Residents have until 24 March 2025 to provide feedback via an online survey at: the City of Melton Conversations page.

Quotes attributable to City of Melton, Mayor Cr Steve Abboushi:

“It’s really important we hear from our residents to find out about their current experiences and what they would like to see in the future.”

“We want to make sure our aquatic facilities meet the needs of our community, and where there are gaps that we have a roadmap for how we will provide these services into the future.”

“It’s so important that our community has access to quality aquatic facilities and services to help support their health and wellbeing.”
