Have your say on the City of Melton bus network

Published on 27 October 2023

City of Melton residents have been encouraged to have their say on the bus network in Australia’s fastest growing municipality.

As part of the Metropolitan Transport Forum’s Bus Appreciation Week, City of Melton Mayor Cr Lara Carli, and State Member for Melton, Steve McGhie MP, joined residents on a bus ride from Woodgrove Shopping Centre.

They called for City of Melton residents to try their local bus and complete the MTF’s Better Buses survey to help shape an accessible, frequent and connected bus network in our community.

Residents are heavily reliant on buses to link up with the rail network, visit friends and relatives, and get to school, work and the shops.

Using the bus is a great way for residents to save money on travel costs, reduce their impact on the environment and connect with other members of the community.

Melton City Council has called for a review of the municipality’s bus network to start as soon as possible.

Modelling conducted by Melton City Council shows a cost neutral reconfiguration of existing routes would double frequency and create new routes for areas not serviced by buses. For more information on Melton City Council’s modelling visit www.movingmelton.com.au/busnetwork
