City of Melton to welcome close to 1,000 new citizens

Melton City Council will host three citizenship ceremonies leading up to and on Australia Day this year to welcome the City’s newest Australian citizens.
Nearly 1,000 residents will officially become Australian citizens during the ceremonies to be held at Cobblebank Indoor Stadium (Stadium Drive, Cobblebank), on Friday 24 January and Australia Day, Sunday 26 January.
The Australia Day event will also include a range of community activities following the ceremony including a BBQ, face painting, craft activities and the chance to pat dingos and meet some native reptiles. All activities are free and open to the community to attend.
Citizenship ceremonies:
- Friday 24 January, 11am
- Friday 24 January, 3pm
- Sunday 26 January, 10:30am (the community activities will run from 11am-12:30pm)
