Bridge Road community recreation hub one step closer

Published on 05 September 2024

A new community hub to deliver better recreation facilities and more opportunities for Strathtulloh residents to play sport is a step closer.

City of Melton Mayor Cr Kathy Majdlik was joined by State Member for Melton Steve McGhie MP on Wednesday to mark the start of works on Stage 2 of the Bridge Road Community Hub.

The project will increase opportunities to play Australian Rules football, cricket and netball in the rapidly growing Strathtulloh community.

Facilities at the new hub will include an oval for football and cricket, netball court, cricket practice nets and lighting alongside various visitor and player amenities.

The project will also deliver active recreation facilities and complete the shared path network through the precinct, improving connectivity with the Toolern Regional Park.

The project is jointly funded by Council and the Victorian Government through the Growing Suburbs Fund and the Community Support Fund. Works are due to be completed in late 2025.
