8 fun things to do at Melton Town Centre these April school holidays

The school holidays are just around the corner, kicking off Friday 4 April and finishing Monday 21 April. 

If you’re on the hunt for fun activities to entertain the kids, look no further than Melton Town Centre. 

Whether you’re after indoor, outdoor, creative or adventure activities, we’ve pulled together the ultimate guide for family friendly fun at Melton Town Centre...including where to find the Easter Bunny.  

1. Melton Night Market – Oceania Night 

Start off strong these April school holidays by visiting the Melton Night Market – Oceania Night on the last day of term. 

The market offers stalls brimming with mouth watering cuisines, handcrafted treasures and one-of-a-kind goods.  

It also offers live music and traditional performances to delight audiences of all ages.  

Whether you’re sampling new flavours, dancing to world rhythms, or simply soaking up the festive atmosphere, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at the Melton Night Market and it’s a night you do not want to miss. 

And the best part? It’s free to attend!  

The Night Market is on Friday 4 April and runs from 5pm – 9pm.

2. Meet the Easter Bunny at Melton Music’s Easter Showcase 2025 

Head to Melton Town Centre Amphitheatre Sunday 13 April to meet the Easter Bunny as part of Melton Music’s Easter Showcase! 

The Easter showcase promises an afternoon of fun with Easter crafts, an Easter egg hunt, face painting and live music.  

You will also get to see local artists Paper_Cranes, Fauzan Luqman and CharEm perform live. 

The event runs from 2PM to 4PM and is free to attend. 

3. Scavenger Hunt

Your adventure kicks off at the Melton City Council Civic Centre, where you can either walk, ride or scoot around Melton to complete fun tasks, find exciting clues and learn more about the town centre.

4. Hannah Watts Park 

Hannah Watts Park has lots of fun attractions to keep the kids active these school holidays, including: 

  • In-ground trampolines 
  • Tower with giant slide and climbing elements 
  • Flying fox 
  • Swings, including a parent and child swing 
  • Nest swing 
  • All abilities swing with back and neck support 
  • Whirly go-round (includes space and access for a wheelchair) 
     

5. Starboard Games 

From classic and vintage games to the latest consoles, this gamer’s haven, located 35 Bakery Square, is perfect for kids and parents alike. 

By buying local at Starboard Games, you’ll be supporting our local economy. 

6. Xplosions Bar and Bowl 

With thrilling bowling lanes, exciting arcade games and special events, Xplosions Bar and Bowl is your go-to destination for fun in Melton. 

Starboard Games owner and founder (and dad!) Volkan Tezgel says Xplosions Bar and Bowl is one of his favourite spots to take the kids in Melton Town Centre. 

“I love having a big arcade literally next door. It’s a huge bonus. My kids love going there, spending some time together, getting some tickets – and taking home amazing prizes!” 

7. Augustus Gelatery - Melton 

Enjoy delicious gelato at the historic Court House Café located at the heart of Melton Town Centre –  recently upgraded thanks to funding by the Victorian Government. 

8. Melton Town Centre Amphitheatre 

Often jam packed with fun events over the holidays, the Melton Town Centre Amphitheatre is available for open air events, community groups, music performances and more.
