Project overview

The intersection of Taylors Road and Gourlay Road has been identified as a priority upgrade due to high traffic volumes. Council will be carrying out works to upgrade the existing roundabout into a four-way intersection, with traffic lights as well as the providing an additional lane between City Vista Court and Gourlay Road. This upgrade is a key component of the broader Taylors Road Corridor Upgrade Plan, which aims to accommodate the future growth of our city while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents.

Key features of the project include: 
  • Expansion and realignment of the road to improve traffic flow and safety
  • Installation of new traffic lights to regulate traffic and enhance safety at the intersection
  • Pedestrian crossings to allow for safe and accessible pedestrian crossings, as well as support active transport options
  • Installation of public lighting to increase visibility and enhance safety
  • Road duplication, with an additional lane in each direction between Gourlay Road and City Vista Court
  • Drainage improvements
  • New landscaping
  • Relocation of services such as electricity, water, gas, and communications will be placed underground for durability and safety 
      
Project timeline

Construction on the Taylors Road and Gourlay Road Traffic Lights and Road Duplication project is due to commence in early 2025 and is expected to be completed by late 2026.
