As part of the 2021/2022 Council Budget, Council has committed to the reconstruction of the senior oval at the Burnside Heights Recreation Reserve. 

To ensure the oval is established in the warmer months, a small team of officers from Recreation, Parks and Capital Projects have worked closely to identify the scope of works and to procure a contract.

In consultation with the Burnside Heights Football Club and the Burnside Heights Cricket Club, work commenced onsite immediately following the scheduled completion of the football season.

Council was successful in receiving funding for this project from the Federal Government, via the Local Roads & Community Infrastructure funding program.
The work was carried out by McMahons Pty Ltd and was completion in early 2023.

The project value is $1,750,000.
