Love Where We Are reflects on everyday Melton life and aims to celebrates the unique details that make our neighbourhoods home. A collection of vibrant paper art and collage featuring quirky illustrations, inclusive themes and abstract portraiture that represent the diversity of our local Melton community. Through her first exhibition opportunity, local emerging artist Tess Angala explores how we can find a home away from home with great community support and creativity as constants if we Love Where We Are.
About Tess Angala
Tess Angala is a mum, illustrator, stationary designer, baker, and occasional writer. She has a background in Industrial Engineering and Human Resources, however her creative journey began as a paper crafter in the 2000s back in Manila, Philippines. Upon migrating to Melbourne, she remained creative and maintained her love for design by taking up self-directed courses in illustration and patterns. She is now the proud business owner of What Tess Makes, an online artisan boutique of joyful, vibrant paper goods, homewares, and gifts. All the creative magic takes place in her home studio in Caroline Springs.
